Weli was a project focused on search engine optimization. The search field and results worked perfectly fine, but the problem was users would get lost within the results or lack feedback on certain pages and leave the site. As the UI/UX lead, I researched competitors, tested on users, and created wireframes with functionality descriptions to avoid miscommunication with developers. I suggested a main navigation that sticks to every page for consistency, combining certain pages to make information easy to find, and always showing feedback to users even if no results were found.
There were many whiteboard sessions with the Director of SEO, Project Manager and developers to ensure my vision was on the right path to gaining more traffic. I focused on UI after each wireframe page was completed to keep the developers moving forward as some pages were priority for SEO. The communication between the team and I was so smooth that we were able to maintain our timeline.
